2008 Chrysler 300C SRT8 - initial impression

Picked up the new SRT8 on Saturday and just want to share the initial impression and some pics taken in Rye later that day.

Have only driven 150 miles but so far I'm very impressed by the build quality, performance, and comfort. Taking an exit ramp at 60mph the car stayed firmly planted, absolutely flat, and not a peep from the 255-45-20 tires. Acceleration is, as expected, an outstanding feature and the engine sounds very strong under acceleration yet subdued at cruise. The huge Brembo brakes coupled with the big tires give this car the stopping performance of a Ferrari.

The 2008 model has a revised interior which is now all black (previously grey + black 2 tone), the interior trim is carbon fiber on the lower center console and the dash in front of the passenger, and the door panels have been greatly improved using high quality materials. Exterior changes are minimal and include a revised trunk lid incorporating a center mounted stoplight and subtle integrated spoiler.

The view most other drivers will see.
